In an interesting twist of MS's strategy (after the Mindcraft incident), Steve Ballmer admitted during a keynote address in Austria that "Apache is simply better." Here is what he had to say (re-translated into English from a German-language page at Austrian TV's web site): "It is our own fault if we do not offer enough features with our servers to justify their price. When it comes to hosting several sites on one server version, Apache is simply better. Windows 2000 will solve this problem." Ballmer gave the keynote address on May 31 at an official presentation of MS Office 2000 after taking to Austria's chancelor Viktor Klima, whom Ballmer called politely "the most IT-knowledgable head of government in Europe."
